Nearly at the end of the week, on Thursday the 14th, at the second period, we had a poetry reading activity.  The presentation of the authors , among them Walt Whitman, whose 200th anniversary is celebrated this year, was alternated with the reading of several of his poems by different students from 3rd and 4th of ESO and some of the teachers. Other authors whose poems were read were George Eliot, whose 200th anniversary is being celebrated this year too, or Doris Lessing, whose 100th anniversary is being celebrated.

At the third period, we had the tongue twisters final, for the students of 2nd of ESO. The students made a big effort so it was a success!!! They had a great time!!

At the break time, we had a mini concert in the library with the students of 3rd A, who sang several songs from the British mythical band Queen.

And last but not least, on the fourth period, one of our teachers in the department of English, M.ª José Guerrero Olivares, made a presentation about the Japanese Americans who migrated to the United States and the treatment that they were given during World War II, and the different parallelisms that there are between what happened then and what is happening now.
